Top "Jams" That Make Me Glad to Exsist On This Planet.

Music is actually rather important to me as a person, who is alive, and must go through the waves of crap each day that I have to. Without it I would be lost, forever, literally. These are a few jams that keep my mind kicking and let it remember what is so good about living in general. I've made this list based on the songs I actually have on my personal Ipod, so of course their are other jams that didn't make it but still make me glad to be human. I have a taste not many can describe when it comes to my music. I do not label myself in anyway possible. I like certain songs and bands because of how they make me feel. The way they touch my soul, its more than just being a rocker or a hippie. I am me, and this is what makes me who I am. Welcome to my calm and happy place.

(If you are wondering why this list is not numbered and instead LETTERED, you will come to realize I am not one for top # lists. Its a restriction I do not prefer to take part in, so have fun with this list of random numbered letters.)

#H

"Do You Wanna Date My Avatar" - The Guild & Felicia Day
This song puts me in the best mood, it plays in my head for days, over and over again and I am totally okay with that. It was created by some of my favorite people, The Guildies. Felicia Day, who is so beautiful and talented who leads a group of online gamers after their leader has a melt down. I am a huge fan of the show, plus Felicia is a Whedon Actress, meaning she has played in Joss Whedon creations. "Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog", which if you have yet to watch it, GET ON IT. Its on net, find it and be amazed. She was also on the final season of Buffy The Vampire Slayer as a Potential Slayer, very exciting. This song is super important to me because it inspires me. Check it out, you'll be addicted.
#K

"I Can't Go For That" - Hall & Oats

First of all, how can you not love a band who is lucky enough that both their last names are as cool as "Hall & Oats", righteous. Plus they are what the 80's are, in a nut shell. I know its been said that everyone at least has one Hall & Oats song on their Ipod, and it should be this one. The beat drives me crazy, its perfect to jam out too, which is why it belongs on this list. Hence it's presence.
#D

"Rock With You" - Michael Jackson

Say what you will about Michael Jackson, but he makes damn good music. There would actually be multiple of his hits on this list but I've decided to limit one per customer. So first choice would always be his magical Disco hit, Rock with you. I could listen to it over and over all day long never changing the song. I would be content with life. I have a habit of singing it at the top of my lungs while driving so watch out if you're near me on the road. I do dig the disco scene but this is just perfection. Go MJ! He can rock me into day.
#S

"Master Exploder" - Tenacious D

Basically any Tenacious D song belongs on this list, I LOVE them. Jack black is an amazing guy but teamed up with Kyle Gas, it becomes OUTRAGEOUS! But to pick only one is a tough decision, but i thought back to the beginning of my obsession and i recall Master Exploder being played a TON. Its crazy, and almost sounds unbelievable. If you like music, LOOK IT UP. It's so very worth it.
#N

"Don't You Evah" - Spoon

Great band, great song, great CD. GA GA GA GA GA is a great album and this is my choice of perfection for them. They do have some other great hits on this album I could possibly choose but this is where I fell for them. I could hear it anytime, day or night, and feel very relaxed and happy. They definitely belong here on this wacky list of madness & music.
#Q

"Angry Johnny" - Poe

One of the greatest "get mad/sad" songs. The lyrics alone make it stand out in the most awesome way. Poe is a rocker, through and through, she's beautiful and tuff, just the way women should be. A heroine for all of us and a great song for one of those days you just need to chill but want to feel something. Very expressive and impressive, give it a go, it can't hurt. Well maybe your heart, a little.
#L

"The Chain" - Fleetwood Mac

Beauty. Just the most graceful and beautiful band ever. Always been a Stevie fan, so Fleetwood Mac matters to me. To pick one song, that just happens to be on my Ipod, this would be it. I love how reminiscent it is, makes me think happy thoughts of my mother who brought his band and song to my attention so long ago. It takes me to a time I can barely remember but want to relive so badly, and that really helps in this day and age for me. Just Listen.
#A

"Mutilated Lips" - Ween

It feels like its been so long since the first time I heard this song. I could say its the reason I fell in love with Ween (my favorite Band of all time), but its probably a lie. But it is a song I love to hear and puts me in this place of peace that I can't even describe. This band means the world to me and was one of the things that brought my boyfriend and I together in a special way. So they belong on this list before any others and here they are. We welcome you Ween.
#E

"Where Is My Mind" - The Pixies

Pixies are a special band, that without I would be too sad to cope. They are like an extinct animal, rare & beautiful. Drama runs through them but it happens to the best of us all. They have many many songs that should show themselves on here but If one came to mind to pick, this is the one. Say hello to the Pixies.
#U

"Today" - Jefferson Airplane

I wish I was alive and kicking in the 60's, I really do. The time, things that happened, and how music was perceived had to be so exciting. I am rather jealous due to the fact my generation is so boring and their music really isn't as important to them as it was then. Jefferson Airplane is one of those bands I would've loved to see, just as I would have loved seeing the Doors or Janis Joplin. But I can have my songs in this day when it doesn't matter to many anymore but it does to me and that's what matters to me, which is the only real thing I am ever interested in anyway, so it works out. Its a semi-sad pretty song that drives me wild with inner passion. Find it, and rock out.
#I

"Dirty Work" - Steely Dan

I know, the singer didn't sing it, oh well. I love it, its gorgeous and has meaningful lyrics of pain. Its makes me so happy to hear it anytime its on. No, its not the only Steely Dan song that does this to me but it was the first to impress me so. I also really love "Everyone's Gone to the Movies" despite its racy lyrics and meaning, its still such a great song.
#R

"Happiness is a Warm Gun" - The Beatles

No, its not the most convenient Beatles song to be in love with but it is what it is. The White album is brilliant and this is my priceless choice from it. I love the variations and just everything about it. If you haven't heard it please go out and listen to it, it may just change your life.

If I don't stop this now it will just continue on forever. Maybe I'll come back and add some more that apply. So check back to see my other selections of fantastic songs that could bring me out of a comma. Seriously, you might want to check back for cautionary reasons, you might just need to know this information for a time in the future.

And remember, listen to what makes you happy, and nothing less.

Until Next Year, Halloween

HAPPY (late) HALLOWEEN!

Yes, i know, I'm late. Oh well. No biggie.

As you can see, this is one holiday that matters, to me, a lot. Its such at great time of the year, leaves on the ground, that golden brown color that you see every which way you turn, its beautiful. What better to go with that beauty than costumes, candy, and HORROR.

Every year I do at least 1 thing, watch John Carpenter's "Halloween". Yeah, the OLD ONE, not the NEW ONE that is completely ridiculous in so many ways, such an embarrassment (obviously you see my opinion on the remake...) My day is not the same without it and if i happen to miss it, it causes mayhem for me. It is the epitome of what Halloween stands for, in my mind anyway. Its called tradition, and its glorious.

There are some other great things to watch on this magical day of the year, one being "The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown". YES! Charlie Brown is CLASSIC for most holidays, like Thanksgiving & Christmas, but especially Halloween. I did get a chance to watch this as well but it was a couple days earlier so I didn't get the same effect but still fantastic homage to my younger years.

This past year was the first time for a particularly special film for the boyfriend. I trust his instincts on most media things, not all, but most. With this film he was right on the nose, "Witches Night Out". If you haven't had the chance, WATCH. It is particularly rare, (i watched on VHS!) so if you by chance find it, pick it up, its more than worth it. It surrounds a couple kids and their babysitter on Halloween. Pretty normal, right? Well you haven't SEEN these people, they are cartoon blob things, not much thought gone into their creation, but none the less, still amazing. Then of course there is a Witch, not shocking based on that title and all. But she is a BIT on the insane side, plus there are the weird kids who are, you guessed it, weird. But in the end the kids all turn into their costumes and reak havoc until they realize they are stuck this way and start crying. All in all, great Halloween goodness.

If you've read any of my blogs you will see a huge trend dealing with anything Joss Whedon, he's basically my hero. So i could not possibly leave out the amazing Halloween themed episodes of the wonderful show, Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I did get a chance to watch a few this year, like i would skip them, and also a treat on the Friday before, 10/30, when me and the boyfriend drove up to Indianapolis to watch actors dance and sing a long to the Musial episode, Once More With Feeling, (Best Halloween EVER). More about that later...Back to the episodes. We had a chance to go back to the wonderful season 4, episode 4, "Fear Itself". Great Halloween spirit, fears coming to life, frat parties going haywire, and a mini demon whining, brilliant. As they wonder through the charmed frat house with no escape in sight, they fight, bicker, disappear, talk to dead people, eat flying, glowing dots, and almost turn into a werewolf, but not quite. Who is doing this to our gang? Why a mini-monster named Gachnar. By the end, we have a smooshed fear demon and a scary bunny Anya, oh and candy.

Next Buffy Halloween extravaganza was "Halloween", perfect title. In this creepy tale we have have the gang dressing up to take out little kids trick or treating, as they are forced to by Snyder, the principal. We see Ethan Rayne the first time as he convinces Buffy to buy a 1700's style dress for her costume, to, of course, impress Angel. (Those were the days, yuck spike, sorry...) We have Xander, the Military Man, Cordelia the cat-person, and Willow the skank/ghost. In another story of costumes becoming real, always fun, we end up with a whimpering brunette Buffy, a Xander soldier, normal ole' Cordelia, and a ghostly skank willow. By the finish, bad ass Buffy returns to kick spikes bottom, regular Xander, and a missing Willow, who turns out to see dressing like a skank isn't so bad. Which later comes in handy to impress the awesome, Oz.

Can't wait until next year. More horror, More candy, More fun. See you then!

Life as I know it.

Has been a bit shaky. Things aren't going the exact way I wish they would. One thing to keep hope alive, our movie, our shows, things we love. We are REEALLY into BIG LOVE right now, its an amazing show and rather addicting. We are ending the second season with 4 episodes to go, which will need to last us till January when the 3rd season comes out on DVD. But they won't, they'll be gone by this weekend and that's fine with me. We'll find something else to sink our teeth in for the time being. Another show we have to wait on, DOLLHOUSE. News of its disappearance until December is sad, but I made sure to be able to enjoy the last episode until then, and DID I!

Our movie, well, its moving slow. Not bad slow, good slow. We will do it, we'll make sure of that. We are just taking our time figuring things out, which is nice. We're making a plan. The writing is almost done, besides 2nd and 3rd drafts. Its so exciting to have something else to put effort into. Its really making it easier to deal with family situations that have presented themselves. Our plans will need to include, making our movie and moving out and away to a place we can be ourselves without distractions. Once this happens I will be the happiest girl alive... Except for that horrible job I work at, but once our movie is made we can travel and carry it with us to show those interested what we have accomplished. My own little normalish Fairytale. Tune in to see how it goes, you will be updated on progress. :)

I Don't Wanna Work, I Want To Make Films All Day

So, I am a average Jane, living in America during a recession. I work at a place that sucks my soul out of my body and makes me feel actual pain just THINKING about it alone. Of course I want a job that makes me happy, to wake up every morning with joy in my heart to do what I love. Its the American dream. It's also very difficult to pull off without having loads of cash. Which I believe is rather constricting, considering I am a 20 year old who works full time in hell. I want the possibility of loving life with work involved, which is why I am attempting to make a independent film. No, I don't have film school under my belt, let alone a college of anything, but this will NOT hold me back. This is the beginning of a LONG journey to a life only dreamed of.

The other half of the American dreams is Working Hard. I do understand that I will never have the life I want without working hard to get it. Me and my BF, D, are officially working toward those dreams. We have written the script, plotted out our characters, and listed out our props. However, we are in need of great help. We need legal advice, money for various items and most importantly a camera, a fantastic Canon GL2. I have placed a DONATE BUTTON on my site for people's Dollar Bill's of pity, and I hope it becomes utilized. I am sure we will be able to do this, no matter the amount of help, but it sure would make the situation a LOT easier if we had some fans backing us up. So far we only have excited soon-to-be-characters, a learning-to-be-accountant, trying-to-be-entertainment lawyer, a script, a setting, and ambition.

Were you needing something to believe in? Looking for something to put your hard earned cash to good use? Well look no farther! We are trying to show the world you don't NEED film school and college, you don't NEED Hollywood. You only need the fire of your dreams to guide you, which is what we have. Show your support and compassion here, help out a couple kids make a movie and change their lives for the better, even if only in the slightest bit.

INFO - We are trying to start filming in early 2010 (FEB/MARCH). CHECK BACK for links to find us and what you have helped create.

WE NEED YOU TO HELP DREAMS COME TRUE.

British Comedy Hour! Top 5 Best Brit Shows

Ello Ladies and Gents,

This is my segment on BRITISH COMEDIES! How exciting! I have found that the usual American is torn on British telly, they usually love it or hate it. In the words of my grandfather, "British comedy! Its not funny!" Well Sir, I do disagree. I have a HUGE thing for most British shows I have had the chance to lay my eyes on. So, i decided i would post a TOP 5, (since i just LOVE lists! not particularly but maybe I will come around with the list being created by ME!). So here it is, from my point of view, POV, I declare these 5 shows some of the best television to come out of our Queen's Country.

ENJOY :D

5.) The office

Excellent show, great cast of hilarious Brits. Staring the absurd Ricky Gervais as "Michael" the office's regional manager. If you enjoy the American Office then definitely give the BBC version a go because you will not be unsatisfied. Trust me, if you happen to be a fan of our version, definitely look this one up for some good laughs.

4.) The IT Crowd

This all started with a fan fave Richard Ayoade, I just love the guy, and chances are if you watch him for a good 5 seconds, YOU WILL TOO! Plus he is accompanied by his 2 mates, Chris O'Dowd & Katherine Parkinson which are also great contributors to this great British comedy. Also, making an appearance is one of my faves who you will see next on the list, Matt Berry. Basically they work in a large who-knows-what company in the Tech Support section. Really, go give this one a try, it will usher you into beautiful British heaven, I guarantee it!

3.) Garth Marenghi's Darkplace

This was probably my first actual glimpse into the wonderful world of British Comedy. It is for the outrageous, which would include yours truly. It is an insane look into a creeply little hospital called Darkplace. The lead doctor Rick Dagless MD (Matthew Holness) will become an instant favorite. You have to understand this is Bad Acting at its best, (insiders tip: its SUPPOSED to be like that!). He will also be found with Matt Berry as Dr. Lucien Sanchez and Alice Lowe as Liz Asher (a telepathic on the WARPATH.). Last but by NO means least, Dean Learner played by our very own, Richard Ayoade. There is a mini guest appearance from a man you will learn about next, a very special guy, Julian Barratt. CHECK THIS SHOW OUT! It is not on DVD, unless you ARE a Brit, but you can find it on youtube. It did have a stint on ADULTSWIM but is no longer shown there. (But number 2 on our list is! Sunday's at 1:00 AM)

2.) The Mighty Boosh

This is a GEM in the treasure chest of British Comedies. If you like the weird and unexplainably funny, you must make this your next television venture. Basically 2 guys, Julian Barratt (Howard Moon) & Noel Fielding (Vince Noir) have really absolutely nothing in common but hang out together constantly. They also chill with a Gorilla named Bollo and a Shaman Named Naboo The Enigma (Michael Fielding, which happens to be the real life brother of Noel Fielding). They go on crazy adventures and sing wonderfully insane songs. They are brilliant to a T. This year was their first trek to the Americas and went on a tour on did some talk show gigs, which i imagine you can also find on youtube. Seriously, check them out, you'll love yourself for it!

1.) SPACED

Now your in for a treat. If anyone who knows anything about British Comedies, its that SPACED is by far the most amazing show they have to offer. This show skyrocketed the careers of Simon Peg and Nick Frost, who can also be seen in the already-classics, "Shaun of the Dead" & "Hot Fuzz". It is a show about 2 people, Daisy & Tim, who meet and spend time together and decide to get an apartment together. They bring along their crazy friends, Twist & Mike. They meet a couple more amazing characters while living in their flat, Brian the Artist and the land lady Marsha. It is an excellent watch, so if you are interested in the classics of British comedy, PLEASE check IT out.

Well there you have it, my top 5 British comedies that will seriously make you want to be a Brit yourself. Don't waste anytime, get out there and start watching!

MEANGENE.

RIP

Patrick Swayze. You will be missed. You were a beautiful human being. Godspeed.

MEANGENE

Kicks I Get On.

Yes, I enjoy getting on "Kicks" of shows. This basically means I watch an episode every night after work. You see, my life is rather boring, I wake up, go to work, come home & watch something, then sleep. (then REPEAT). Now the one thing that brings me joy everyday is that portion on my day/night that I get to watch something.

CURRENTLY = THE OFFICE.

Now The Office is an EXCELLENT show, its funny, sweet, and awkward. All the things you need in a good show, minus all the drama and tears. Me and the boyfriend, who I will refer as D, watch this every night and have been for a few weeks now. Its very entertaining and makes for a good time.

We are currently back to season one since we watched 3 and 4 and since i have yet to buy season 5, we are going backwards, which is perfectly fine.

GREAT NEWS - The office is actually a USA depiction of a BBC (British) show of the same name. If you are at all curious of this, they will be playing the BBC Office starting SEPT. 18, 09 on ADULTSWIM. (I do recommend it, I own it and it is equally, if not funnier.)

KICKS FROM RECENT PAST are as follows..
(I'll go from most recent to older)

DOLLHOUSE

Once I found the splendor that is HULU.COM, I picked up this little pretty. It had everything I needed to get involved in a new series. Eliza Dushku, which i basically LOVE in anything she does AND Joss Whedon, Which again, LOVE everything he does. So right there I knew it would be a great way to spend my nights. I got D addicted and it's all history from there. I am currently awaiting the new season, SEPT. 25. Should be super exciting!

FIREFLY & SERENITY

HULU.COM was a real life saver during this escapade. They had the entire season of this excellent sci-fi master piece. If you don't know it's heroic story, well let me fill you in. Of course this was created by, my all-time fave, Joss Whedon, and when you get something by Joss, then you get some kind of crazy problems attached. This show was cancelled, sadly, and it was a HUGE loss for Joss and the cast. Luckily for all of us viewers and fans, Joss Whedon's fan base is SO INTENSE they rallied together to get a MOVIE made! YAY! So then came Serenity, basically a movie finishing up where they left off being able to give us all much needed closer.

This show (and the movie) were excellent. I was even iffy since i am not the biggest space-type-show person. (I'm semi afraid of the idea of space/universe. Don't laugh) But I knew in my heart, this is something made from the genius that is Joss so i had to give it a shot, and man am i glad.

(HULU.COM does still have season 1 up for viewing and i have not heard of them taking it down but i would not be shocked if they did so, YET AGAIN, go watch please!)

BUFFY & ANGEL

This was also around the time I stumbled upon HULU.COM. (Which if you hurry, you will still be able to catch season 1,2,&3 of Buffy before OCT. when they yank 2&3 off, GO RUN WATCH!) First I started with ANGEL, i needed something to watch while D was at his 3rd shift job, so why not a vampire GOD to help me with my loneliness! I remembered watching the show on television when it came out and I quickly was hooked all over again. Of course D caught me and wanted to watch too, so there we were watching this awesome show and HULU.COM only has season's 1 (and of course if you are wondering, HULU.COM will be RIPPING most of the season off in OCT. You will only be offered episodes 1-5, so YES GO HURRY WATCH!) So this began my feverish search for the DVDs. I found some of them (1&2) at the nearby Wal-mart (cheap too! 15 Bucks each!). Of course it couldn't possibly be THAT easy to get them all. So around that same time we had planned a vacation to Pigeon Forge TN and we got the bright idea to search at every off-the-highway Wal-mart until we found them all. For a happy ending, yes we found them! SO of course now I have my very own Angel collection that I am very proud of based on the tale on achieving them.

Buffy was started AFTER Angel, I know I know, how could I do that, WELL I DID so WAA! Of course i watched Buffy as well when it came on TV so it was a real treat to watch it all over again. Yes, I watched 1,2,&3 on HULU.COM and then D decided he would go in on this one and buy the collection, (the GF with ANGEL and the BF with BUFFY, awww) His trip was not as exciting (HA!) and he found most of all of them at the local Wal-mart's (Same great price!) and only had to order 1 online. Pure Greatness.

This was our first glimpse back into the world and work of Joss Whedon as adults and man was it glorious!

SUPERNATURAL

Man are those boys GOOOOOD LOOKIN! But on a more serious note, Great Show. If you want demons, Witches, Ghosts, & Goblins (well not so many goblins), this is the show for you! Its about a couple boys living out their father's dream, REVENGING THEIR MOTHERS DEATH, (sounds nice don't it..) plus a LOT more. Super entertaining and hilarious to boot. This cannot be found on HULU.COM, which it should be. D got the first couple season's on DVD and it was love. I just recently watched the 5th season premier episode, which was out-frickin-standing. CHECK IT OUT!

THOSE are the latest KICKS I have been on, before that it gets a little hazy so don't worry you will know, from this moment on, the KICKS THAT ARE TO COME. That is it for me for now, I shall return!

Current TV Show Praise Is...

DOLLHOUSE

If your not watching this show you should be a ASHAMED of your self. This is the newest installment in the magical career that is JOSS WHEDON. It is an excellent piece of art allowed to be on television. But on a serious SERIOUS note, you NEED to watch this show for the SAKE of the show. The creator and cast were already shocked this year by the fact they were brought back to create season 2. Joss Whedon shows have always had to deal with harsh critic situations for a long time, and we need the PEOPLE to change this. If you have a soul in your body and you find Joss Whedon at least TOLERABLE,then please, I BEG OF YOU, watch this show. It will be back on the air on SEPTEMBER 25 on FOX. Please show your support for Joss by watching. If you ever want to see this man do ANYTHING on TV again, you will.

PROS =
Pretty Ladies (Eliza Dushku, Amy Acker, Dichen Lachman, Miracle Laurie, & more)
Pretty Mens (Harry Lennix, Fran Kranz, Enver Gjokaj, & Tahmoh Penikett)
Beautiful Sets (Dollhouse itself is GORGEOUS)

CONS =
..... None.

You want more of this?
THEN WATCH!
Well that's it for me right now, please do me the honor of having SOMEONE read an follow a simple command! Watch the damn show, you won't regret it.
