Top "Jams" That Make Me Glad to Exsist On This Planet.

Music is actually rather important to me as a person, who is alive, and must go through the waves of crap each day that I have to. Without it I would be lost, forever, literally. These are a few jams that keep my mind kicking and let it remember what is so good about living in general. I've made this list based on the songs I actually have on my personal Ipod, so of course their are other jams that didn't make it but still make me glad to be human. I have a taste not many can describe when it comes to my music. I do not label myself in anyway possible. I like certain songs and bands because of how they make me feel. The way they touch my soul, its more than just being a rocker or a hippie. I am me, and this is what makes me who I am. Welcome to my calm and happy place.

(If you are wondering why this list is not numbered and instead LETTERED, you will come to realize I am not one for top # lists. Its a restriction I do not prefer to take part in, so have fun with this list of random numbered letters.)

"Do You Wanna Date My Avatar" - The Guild & Felicia Day
This song puts me in the best mood, it plays in my head for days, over and over again and I am totally okay with that. It was created by some of my favorite people, The Guildies. Felicia Day, who is so beautiful and talented who leads a group of online gamers after their leader has a melt down. I am a huge fan of the show, plus Felicia is a Whedon Actress, meaning she has played in Joss Whedon creations. "Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog", which if you have yet to watch it, GET ON IT. Its on net, find it and be amazed. She was also on the final season of Buffy The Vampire Slayer as a Potential Slayer, very exciting. This song is super important to me because it inspires me. Check it out, you'll be addicted.

"I Can't Go For That" - Hall & Oats

First of all, how can you not love a band who is lucky enough that both their last names are as cool as "Hall & Oats", righteous. Plus they are what the 80's are, in a nut shell. I know its been said that everyone at least has one Hall & Oats song on their Ipod, and it should be this one. The beat drives me crazy, its perfect to jam out too, which is why it belongs on this list. Hence it's presence.

"Rock With You" - Michael Jackson

Say what you will about Michael Jackson, but he makes damn good music. There would actually be multiple of his hits on this list but I've decided to limit one per customer. So first choice would always be his magical Disco hit, Rock with you. I could listen to it over and over all day long never changing the song. I would be content with life. I have a habit of singing it at the top of my lungs while driving so watch out if you're near me on the road. I do dig the disco scene but this is just perfection. Go MJ! He can rock me into day.

"Master Exploder" - Tenacious D

Basically any Tenacious D song belongs on this list, I LOVE them. Jack black is an amazing guy but teamed up with Kyle Gas, it becomes OUTRAGEOUS! But to pick only one is a tough decision, but i thought back to the beginning of my obsession and i recall Master Exploder being played a TON. Its crazy, and almost sounds unbelievable. If you like music, LOOK IT UP. It's so very worth it.

"Don't You Evah" - Spoon

Great band, great song, great CD. GA GA GA GA GA is a great album and this is my choice of perfection for them. They do have some other great hits on this album I could possibly choose but this is where I fell for them. I could hear it anytime, day or night, and feel very relaxed and happy. They definitely belong here on this wacky list of madness & music.
#Q

"Angry Johnny" - Poe

One of the greatest "get mad/sad" songs. The lyrics alone make it stand out in the most awesome way. Poe is a rocker, through and through, she's beautiful and tuff, just the way women should be. A heroine for all of us and a great song for one of those days you just need to chill but want to feel something. Very expressive and impressive, give it a go, it can't hurt. Well maybe your heart, a little.

"The Chain" - Fleetwood Mac

Beauty. Just the most graceful and beautiful band ever. Always been a Stevie fan, so Fleetwood Mac matters to me. To pick one song, that just happens to be on my Ipod, this would be it. I love how reminiscent it is, makes me think happy thoughts of my mother who brought his band and song to my attention so long ago. It takes me to a time I can barely remember but want to relive so badly, and that really helps in this day and age for me. Just Listen.

"Mutilated Lips" - Ween

It feels like its been so long since the first time I heard this song. I could say its the reason I fell in love with Ween (my favorite Band of all time), but its probably a lie. But it is a song I love to hear and puts me in this place of peace that I can't even describe. This band means the world to me and was one of the things that brought my boyfriend and I together in a special way. So they belong on this list before any others and here they are. We welcome you Ween.

"Where Is My Mind" - The Pixies

Pixies are a special band, that without I would be too sad to cope. They are like an extinct animal, rare & beautiful. Drama runs through them but it happens to the best of us all. They have many many songs that should show themselves on here but If one came to mind to pick, this is the one. Say hello to the Pixies.

"Today" - Jefferson Airplane

I wish I was alive and kicking in the 60's, I really do. The time, things that happened, and how music was perceived had to be so exciting. I am rather jealous due to the fact my generation is so boring and their music really isn't as important to them as it was then. Jefferson Airplane is one of those bands I would've loved to see, just as I would have loved seeing the Doors or Janis Joplin. But I can have my songs in this day when it doesn't matter to many anymore but it does to me and that's what matters to me, which is the only real thing I am ever interested in anyway, so it works out. Its a semi-sad pretty song that drives me wild with inner passion. Find it, and rock out.
#I

"Dirty Work" - Steely Dan

I know, the singer didn't sing it, oh well. I love it, its gorgeous and has meaningful lyrics of pain. Its makes me so happy to hear it anytime its on. No, its not the only Steely Dan song that does this to me but it was the first to impress me so. I also really love "Everyone's Gone to the Movies" despite its racy lyrics and meaning, its still such a great song.

"Happiness is a Warm Gun" - The Beatles

No, its not the most convenient Beatles song to be in love with but it is what it is. The White album is brilliant and this is my priceless choice from it. I love the variations and just everything about it. If you haven't heard it please go out and listen to it, it may just change your life.

If I don't stop this now it will just continue on forever. Maybe I'll come back and add some more that apply. So check back to see my other selections of fantastic songs that could bring me out of a comma. Seriously, you might want to check back for cautionary reasons, you might just need to know this information for a time in the future.

And remember, listen to what makes you happy, and nothing less.

  1. very good selection of music. im still not a huge fan of Ween but the "D", beatles (i once had happiness is a warm gun stuck in my head for 2 weeks straight and me and my friend sang it down the halls of CCHS...ppl thought we were crazy lol), and steely dan are excellent. You forgot to put your favorite band on there though, Tool. lol Or Metallica as a matter of fact. I've never heard of Do You Wanna Date My Avatar so i watched the music video on youtube and it was really weird and i wasn't a fan of the song either.
